A very late addition to the series of recordings that George Enescu made of his own music - here he tackles his "Romanian Rhapsody No. 2" in a good recording from one of the Parisian orchestras, issued by Remington.
I almost didn't transfer this LP because it has a radial crack that makes the pressing look like it was hit by a ball peen hammer. But with some careful handling and digital refurbishing, it doesn't sound too bad.
The performance of Smetana's "The Moldau" on the other side - a spirited one - is from the so-called Austrian Symphony under George Singer. Michael Gray's website tells us this is the Vienna Tonkunstler Orchestra. NOTE (December 2018): the Smetana is a new transfer that eliminates the sonic problems on the original.
The cover is by Alex Steinweiss, post-Columbia. (I used to have a hat like that, but mine had a red plume.)

Buster....the only complaint I had, with the Remington recordings....some of them weren't complete. As an example, Tchaikowsky's 5th symphony, last movement. Did you find any that met this criteria?
Do you have any of the old Camden recordings, where they changed the name of the symphony and conductor...something like "Sussex Symphony" might have been the NY Philharmonic, etc. One LP was stated as being the only complete version of Vaughan-William's 'London' Symphony (No. 2)...actual conductor was Sir Eugene Goosens.

I'm no expert on Remington releases; I just pick up things I like such as Enesco or Fritz Busch records.
I do have many of the Camden recordings you mention, including (I think) the Vaughan Williams. It is by the Cincinnati Symphony under Goossens, and is of the first version of the VW work, before the composer shortened it a bit. (There is a modern recording of the symphony's longer version on Chandos.) I think I have seen the Goossens floating around on the web, but I'll see if I can locate my pressing. I'd like to transfer it myself.
Buster...can't recall the name of the disguised orchestra...but it's the Boston Symphony, under Serge Koussevitzky. See if you can located Ravel's Daphnis and Chloe Suite No. 2. Pay attention to the flute solo, in the famous "Pantomime" movement. There's a portion which sounds like someone slapped the flutist on the back...you'll notice the "dip" in the flute sound. I've always wondered if all the recordings of the same work, by this orchestra, sounded the same? :-)
There was also a shorted version of Mozart's "Thamos, King Of Egypt", on a 10 incher (Remington)....orchestral portions only. Wonder if you have that one? I've always enjoyed the opening.
